This weekend is set to be the start of Christmas for Ayrshire with three big Light Switch On events taking place on the same day.
Also playing part in the festive spirit will be the famous Coca-Cola truck as it visits Burns Statue Square, in Ayr on Saturday 19th November from 1pm to 9pm - you'll also get a free can of Cola.

Ayr Christmas Lights Switch On
Where? - Ayr High Street
When? - Sunday 20th 1pm till 6pm
What's happening? - The Annual light switch on will take pace this Sunday with star Gareth Gates
South Ayrshire Paralympian Robyn Love will be joining stars of stage and screen Gareth Gates and Michelle Heaton to switch on Ayr’s Christmas Lights on Sunday 20 November at 6pm.
26 year old Robyn of Ayr is fresh from a fantastic 4th place Wheelchair Basketball win at Rio 2016 and is delighted to be part of this festive celebration in her home town.
Gareth Gates (Legally Blonde, Les Miserables, Dancing On Ice, Pop Idol) will headline the event performing hits from his pop and stage career.
Gareth said "To be asked to switch on Ayr’s Christmas lights is fantastic and I’m so pleased to be back in Ayr again. I was here earlier this year at the beautiful Gaiety Theatre in Mad About The Musicals so it’s fair to say I love the place!”
Michelle Heaton (Liberty X) is all set to appear as the wicked queen in this year’s Gaiety Panto and will be joining Gareth and Robyn on stage for the big switch on with Gareth Gates and Michelle both keen to meet and greet fans afterwards too!
There will be entertainment throughout the day from 12-6pm. The main stage entertainment on High Street is from 4-6pm, with the lights switch on taking place at 6pm. There’s lots more going on in Ayr town centre including musical appearances throughout town from local acts Sean C Kennedy, Three Card Trick, Marc Evans, Andy Kerr, Rubicon, Kyle Hood and Little Twist of Fate. The Karen Douglas Dancers will also be performing at the Fish Cross! Plus Ayr Central will be a hive of activity with Ayrshire Santa Dash, Farmers Market, Walkabout Theatre and more.
Coca Cola Truck Ayr
Where? - Ayr High street (Odeon)
When? - Saturday 19th All day
What's happening? - The famous Christmas Coca Cola truck will stop off at Ayr on Saturday 19th all day. On arrival you will be given a free Coca Cola can of your choice along with a chance to get your famous picture with the truck.
Prestwick Christmas light switch on
Where? - Prestwick Main Street (Town)
When? - Sunday 20th 1pm till 5pm
What's happening? - There are various events taking place throughout Prestwick from 1pm with the actual switch-on taking place at 4.30pm. There are 2 stages, the Main Stage and also the Community Stage (65 Club, Main Street).

There will also be a parade leading from Bellevue Road to Prestwick Cross - look out for Santa in his Fire Engine!
Prestwick Community Centre, St Nicholas Church and Prestwick South Church will also host events and activities.
Troon Christmas light switch on
Where? - Troon town centre
When? - Sunday 20th 12pm till 4:30pm
What's happening? - Once again Troon's popular Family Fun Day Wintertainment is on the calendar. This year it's Sunday 20th November.
The Parade through the town starts in Templehill at 12.30pm led by our World Class, 1st Troon BB Pipe Band. This Parade gives many local organisations the opportunity to join us as well as the young folk the chance to see Mr. & Mrs. Claus on the back of the float.
Sum Wumin Drumin are back by popular demand, giving their unique touch to rhythm! With events going on in the Old Parish Church halls, Nazarene Church, Seagate etc. along with the Fairground attractions, Owl Magic, indeed too many to mention, our town transforms itself as a great place to be.
We finish off with the Lights switch on and a traditional Carol/Christmas songs, at the Beacon. So come along and enjoy the day whether you are one or one hundred!
SALTCOATS CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON
Saltcoats Community Action present its second Christmas lights switch on, even bigger than last year, with more to see and more to do.
