The Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team was called out shortly before 4pm today (Sunday) to reports of a boat aground near to Irvine Harbour.
The team responded immediately and on arrival, it was identified the vessel in question was the same boat which the team attended earlier this month where one person was rescued.
With no persons in danger the team has thereafter been stood down and returned to station.
Although the Coastguard are aware of this vessel, the first informant followed the correct course of action and contacted the emergency services. We would ask members of the public to always report any incidents such as this to the Coastguard - it's always better to be safe than sorry.
The Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to those in need. We would much rather be called out to an incident and not be required than not to be called out and someone to be in need of rescue.
