The Council has now given the green light to start building 14 affordable homes on the site of the former Tarbolton Primary School.
Work will get underway in January 2021 to demolish the old school and build the new houses. It is estimated that the project will take around 12 months to complete.
Councillor Philip Saxton, South Ayrshire Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing and Community Wellbeing said:
“I am delighted that this development for social housing can begin early in the new year.
“We want to help people in South Ayrshire to grow well, live well and age well. As part of that commitment, we continue to work with our partners to deliver new housing projects which ensure that people across South Ayrshire have access to affordable homes in the area.”
