East Ayrshire Council posted the update to social channels early hours of Thursday morning - 00:05am.
The statement released from the Council said:
"A burst water main at Cumnock Academy means the school will be closed on Thursday 7 February 2019.
"Repairs are being undertaken and parents will be updated during the day. Sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.
"The Riverside Centre in Cumnock is also affected and will also be closed."
