Demolition of the Arran Mall in Ayr is set to begin on 23 February 2026.

The buildings to be demolished include the three-storey concrete office block on Alloway Street and the single storey mall and retail units behind.
The works, which will be carried out by Dem-Master Demolition Ltd, will take approximately six months to complete.
Secure hoarding will be put in place around the demolition area. The hoarding will maintain existing access from Dalblair Road to neighbouring properties. Access will also be maintained to the car park at the Kyle Centre.
Councillor Martin Kilbride, Housing and Property Services Policy Lead for South Ayrshire Council said:
"It has taken a significant amount of time to sort out all the utilities, but the demolition can now proceed.
"Works will start with the internal strip out of the buildings before taking each structure down. There will be scaffolding on Alloway Street, but the pavement and bus stop will not be affected by the works. The contractor will do everything possible to keep any disruption to a minimum."
