People across Ayrshire are being invited to drive their future forward as Stagecoach hosts a Driver Recruitment Job Fair on Saturday, 25 October at the Kilmarnock Depot on Mackinlay Place.

The event gives attendees the chance to meet the Stagecoach team, learn more about life on the road as a bus driver and even secure a conditional job offer before they leave.

The Job Fair is designed to make the recruitment process as straightforward as possible. Visitors can apply, interview, complete their medical, and if successful, receive a conditional offer with their provisional licence application processed on-site.

Stagecoach is inviting both trainee drivers, who must already hold a full UK driving licence and qualified PCV licence holders, to pre-register ahead of the event.

Pre-registration helps manage interview times and allows initial checks to take place in advance, ensuring a smooth and efficient process on the day.

The recruitment drive comes as Stagecoach continues to strengthen its driving teams at both Kilmarnock and Ayr depots, supporting reliable services across the region and providing people with rewarding new career opportunities.

Fiona Doherty, Managing Director for Stagecoach West Scotland, said:

“In order for us to deliver our services to the highest standard, we need to bolster our workforce and bring in new, talented and dedicated people who enjoy being an integral part of supporting our communities. This upcoming Employment Job Fair could be career-changing and indeed life-changing for people in Kilmarnock. Driving for Stagecoach isn’t just a job; it’s a chance to make a difference in your community every single day. The day will be a great opportunity to get some questions answered by drivers, whether prospective drivers are looking for full time or part time work.”

Alison McCluskie, Operations Director at Stagecoach West Scotland, added:

“People can build fulfilling and long-lasting careers with Stagecoach. Many of our senior managers started out as drivers and progressed through the business. There are great opportunities available for local people, with competitive pay, strong benefits, and a clear pathway to progression. We welcome as many people as possible to register to attend our event – we want to grow our team with talented and dedicated people from across Ayrshire. Stagecoach offers a comprehensive training package for new recruits, including full PCV licence training, along with a wide range of employee benefits such as free travel for employees and their families, a company pension scheme, and access to professional development programmes across the business."

Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to pre-register online via the Stagecoach website, where full details on pay, benefits, training, and career progression can also be found.
