EU Elections - South Ayrshire Results

Following the count at the Citadel Leisure Centre in Ayr, Eileen Howat, Local Returning Officer for the South Ayrshire counting area at the European Parliamentary Election in the Electoral Region of Scotland, held on 23 May, has declared the total number of valid votes given to each registered party in the South Ayrshire area as follows:

• Change UK – The Independent Group – 720

• Conservative and Unionist Party – 7,334

• Labour Party – 2,609

• Liberal Democrats – 3,763

• Scottish Green Party – 2,064

• Scottish National Party (SNP) – 12,254

• The Brexit Party – 6,199

• UK Independence Party (UKIP) – 687

• Edgar, Gordon – 164

• Parke, Ken – 55

The total number of rejected ballot papers was 124.

Total votes cast: 35,973

The turnout figure for the South Ayrshire Election was 40.8% percent.

The current electorate for South Ayrshire is 88,148.
