Flood warning issued for Largs


A FLOOD WARNING has been issued for Largs Seafront by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.  


On Monday evening around 10pm local time coastal flooding is predicted to occur along Firth of Clyde. This flooding is due to a combination of tidal levels with a tidal surge and large wave action. Overtopping of large waves and localised flooding to low-lying areas is predicted in the Largs Seafront area. Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property. Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188. This FLOOD WARNING is now in force until further notice and was sent by phone and sms free of charge to registered customers of our Floodline direct warning service. If you haven't already signed up to receive free flood messages, please call Floodline or register online at sepa.org.uk/floodingsignup. Your Floodline quick dial number for this area is 24219 The area highlighted in red indicates the target area that SEPA will issue a flood warning for. The Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team will be deployed on incident prevention patrol this evening and we continue to advise the public to stay away from exposed coastal areas.
