Headteacher appointed for new Whatriggs Primary in Kilmarnock


Diane MacKinnon has been appointed as Headteacher of the new Whatriggs Primary School.

Mrs MacKinnon, who is currently the Headteacher at Kirkstyle Primary, will take up the reins at the new school when it opens this August.

Councillor Stephanie Primrose, Cabinet Member for Skills and Learning said: “I would like to offer my congratulations to Diane MacKinnon on her appointment to the post of Headteacher of Whatriggs Primary School. Diane is an experienced Headteacher who will bring her vast knowledge of education and her passion for teaching to this role.

“She has also been involved in the development of Whatriggs Primary and has been immersed in both the build and transition process for children, parents and staff.”

The Whatriggs Campus will provide our children and young people with a state of the art learning environment and our community with purpose built meeting facilities.

The original design by East Ayrshire Council architects has been developed by the main contractor Morrison Construction in partnership with award winning architects, Keppie Design.
