Irvine Valley residents have been left baffled and angry after Stagecoach announced it was axing both X36 & X34 services between Ardrossan & Glasgow removing the only direct bus to Glasgow.
West Scotland MSP Katy Clark has also contacted Stagecoach urging them to reverse the decision immediately.
Stagecoach issued the following reason for axing the services:
“Following the pandemic passenger numbers still remain significantly lower, the X34 and X36 Service failed to cover its costs pre-pandemic and in order to protect the wider network, we can no longer operate unsustainable services.“
