Largest Cruise ship to visit the Clyde tomorrow!

LARGEST CRUISE SHIP TO VISIT CLYDE ARRIVES TOMORROW

The largest ever passenger cruise ship to visit the Clyde is due to arrive at Greenock Ocean Terminal tomorrow morning.

MSC Meraviglia, which is the fifth largest cruise ship in the world, is by far the biggest passenger vessel handled by the terminal.

The 171,598-tonne ship is 316 metres long and can carry 5,328 passengers. MSC Meraviglia is 33,000 tonnes bigger than the current Clyde record-holder Queen Mary 2.

The ship, which has called at other Scottish ports Invergordon and Kirkwall this week, is on a Northern Europe cruise taking in Hamburg, Dublin, Southampton and Le Havre.

MSC Meragvilia is expected to berth around 8am and should leave at 7pm, although times often change at short notice. The ship is also returning to Greenock on 29 August this year.

Keep an eye out along the Ayrshire coastline for the ship arriving and departing, but please take care if venturing to the coast to catch a glimpse of the cruise ship.

Search and Rescue - it's what we do.

In a coastal, beach or cliff emergency dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
