The Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team was called out shortly after 2230 hours yesterday to reports of a boat on fire in Troon.
The team responded immediately with Ayr Coastguard Rescue Team, Senior Coastal Operations Officer S16D and the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service.
On arrival, the team were faced with one boat well alight alongside the floating pontoons at Troon Sailing Club next to Troon Marina.
The team has thereafter deployed supporting the fire fighting operation including providing water safety support as well as providing immediate casualty care to one casualty who was handed over into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Coastguard resources have remained on scene until the fire was extinguished and the fire fighting operational successfully completed.
The team has thereafter stood down and returned to station to clean and repack equipment used and complete the necessary paperwork before booking off duty shortly after 0200 hours.
