West Scotland MSP Jamie Greene today welcomed the news that Crosshouse Hospital has opened its new “surgical same day admission” unit.
The unit is intended to allow patients to attend hospital on the day of their operation.
“Mr Greene commented: “It’s great to see a new unit at Crosshouse which will help speed things up and free up bed space for patients.”
“I thank all the volunteers who took part in fundraising so that this new unit could become a reality. It shows real community spirit and it will have a great impact I am sure.”
“It’s important that we make these improvements to our hospitals. Despite the problems it faced in 2016 with staffing levels and waiting times, the staff working in Crosshouse are to be thanked for their commitment. Whilst I may receive letters of complaint from constituents about the overall system, for every one complaint on waiting times I receive a warm story of gratitude for individual members of staff.”
