MISSING CHILD SPARKS CALLOUT IN AYR
The Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team was called out shortly before 4pm today to reports of a missing young child on Ayr Beach.
The team responded immediately with Ayr Coastguard Rescue Team also being tasked to the incident.
As the team was proceeding south towards Ayr, and update was received advising the child was found safe and well by our colleagues in Ayr Coastguard Rescue Team and officers from Police Scotland.
With the child safe and well and reunited with their family, the team has stood down and returned to station to complete the necessary paperwork before booking off duty, ready to respond to the next callout.
The team is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to those in need at the coast and beyond.
