The South Ayrshire Volleyball Club has secured a £500 sponsorship from a new backer to support its growing programme of junior and senior volleyball in the region.

The donation from Girvan based wood pellet and briquette producer, Land Energy, will fund new club-branded sportswear, provide additional resources for volunteer coaches, and strengthen community engagement by encouraging more local people to take part in the sport.

The club runs two competitive senior men’s teams, with the 1st team competing in Scotland’s Premier Division and the 2nd team in Division 2. In addition, weekly junior sessions aim to progress players into the under-18 team, while an adult recreational session welcomes players of all genders and abilities.

David Bone, Marketing Representative at Land Energy said:

"This year alone,Land Energy hasdonated £3500to community groups in Ayrshire and are now delighted to supporttheSouth Ayrshire Volleyball Club. Their commitment to player development and success on the national stage demonstrates the strength of community sport, and we are proud to contribute to that journey."

South Ayrshire Volleyball has a strong record of producing national-level talent. Current senior player Jack Rodger represented Scotland under-20s at the European Championships in Greece and has since joined the Scotland senior men’s team.

Club coach and player Chris Mexson said:

"This sponsorship is an important step in supporting our players and volunteers. With this backing we can provide a stronger identity for the club and continue to increase participation locally."

The club will continue its involvement in the Scottish Premier Division, Division 2, under-18 leagues and the Scottish Cup competitions this season.
