Woman taken to hospital following major emergency call out at Newton Shore

Police Scotland have confirmed that a 59-year-old woman has been taken to hospital following a major multi agency emergency call-out at Newton Shore in Ayr this evening.


An emergency call-out involving the coastguard, search and rescue helicopter, police, fire appliances and ambulance crews and RNLI lifeboat - was sparked after a report to Police of concern for a person in the water at Newton Shore.

Police Scotland issued this statement:

“Police were called around 5.15pm on Thursday, 28 January, 2021, following the report of a concern for person in the water at Newton Shore, Ayr.”


“Emergency services attended and a 59-year-old woman has been taken to hospital.“


The incident was stood down at around 6:55pm.
