The Paws & Clause Christmas Pet Food Bank, organised by Ayrshire Drone Dog Rescue, is calling on the public to donate dog food, cat food, treats and toys in the run-up to Christmas.

Organisers say the initiative aims to ease pressure on households facing financial hardship while ensuring pets remain safely cared for at home during what can be a challenging time of year.

Drop-off points for donations are being shared through the Facebook group “ADDR Fundraising & Christmas Pet Food Bank”, allowing supporters across the region to contribute in person.

For those unable to donate items, financial contributions can also be made to help purchase food and supplies. Donations can be sent via PayPal to ayrshireddr@gmail.com or by bank transfer to Bank of Scotland – Ayrshire Drone Dog Rescue (Sort Code: 80-22-60, Account Number: 24742264). Donors are asked to use the reference “Christmas” so funds can be allocated directly to the appeal.

The charity has also stressed that anyone struggling to afford pet food should not hesitate to get in touch, confirming that support is available.

Organisers say the goal is simple: to make Christmas a positive experience for pets and owners alike, while reducing the risk of animals being abandoned due to short-term financial difficulties.
