Police appeal after knife-point robbery at Cumnock shop

Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery at a shop in Cumnock earlier this week.

The incident happened around 2.40pm on Monday, 20 October, 2025, when a man entered the 123 ABC shop on Hamilton Place, threatened a member of staff with a knife, and demanded money. He made off with a three-figure sum of cash.


The male staff member was left badly shaken but uninjured.


The suspect is described as white, around 5ft 10ins tall and of slim build, with red hair. He was wearing a long cream or yellow duffel coat, black trousers, brown shoes, and carrying a backpack.


Detective Constable Chris Pringle said: “Since this robbery was reported, we have been carrying out enquiries and checking CCTV from in and around the area to identify the man responsible.


“I would ask anyone who was in the area of Hamilton Place on Monday afternoon who saw anything suspicious, or who has any information or footage that may assist to please contact us.”
