Police Appeal following crash on A77

Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash on the A77 between Turnberry and Girvan.

The incident happened around 9.35pm on Thursday, 25 September, 2025, and involved a pedestrian and a Volvo HGV.



Emergency services attended, and the pedestrian, a 56-year-old man, was taken to hospital with what are described as serious injuries.



No other serious injuries were reported.



The road was closed for around three hours while investigations were carried out.



Sergeant Scott Gourlay said: “Enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to get in touch with us.



“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw the pedestrian walking in the area between Girvan and Turnberry around this time.



“Anyone with information or dash-cam footage is asked to come forward, contacting Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3544 of 25 September, 2025.”
