Mr Thomson was last seen in the Calvinston Road area of Prestwick around 10.30am on Thursday, 6 November 2025. He is described as being around 5ft 10in tall, of slim build, with brown hair and brown eyes. When last seen, he was wearing black trousers, a black zipper top and black trainers.

He is believed to be travelling in a red Mazda CX5, registration DM21 FMV. The vehicle was last seen travelling northbound on the Erskine Bridge around 1.50pm on Thursday.

Inspector Christopher Cochrane said: “It is out of character for Ian not to be in touch with his family and as time passes concerns are growing. Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who has seen Ian or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact us. I would also appeal to anyone who was travelling in the area and saw the vehicle or has dash cam footage which may assist to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 2546 of Thursday, 6 November 2025.
