Police appealing to help find a missing vulnerable woman from Irvine

VULNERABLE MISSING WOMAN – IRVINE

Officers at Irvine are continuing enquiries and appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing a 31 year-old woman who was last seen on Monday 29 October 2018.

Caroline McCafferty (31) of Annick Court, Irvine, was last seen around 1pm on Monday 29 October near the Rivergate Shopping Centre in Irvine town centre. She was reported missing to police on Thursday 1 November 2018.

The missing woman is described as white, 5ft 8 inches in height and of slim build with black collar-length hair. When she was last seen she was wearing a fawn coloured raincoat, dark coloured denims with either trainers or black boots.

Sgt Simon Cumming of Irvine Police Office said: “Since Caroline was reported missing to police, officers have been carrying out searches and extensive enquiries to trace her.

“Caroline suffers from mental health issues and has been feeling low lately. Through our initial enquiries we have discovered that she has missed a number of appointments since she was last seen and her family and police are becoming increasingly concerned for her safety and wellbeing. She has not been missing before and it is completely out of character for her not to keep in contact with her family and friends. She is known to frequent Irvine Town Centre on a regular basis.

“At this time, I would urge anyone who has seen Caroline, or who has any information on her whereabouts to contact Irvine Police Office through 101 quoting reference number 3017 of 1st November.”
