Detectives in Kilmarnock are continuing to appeal for information following the robbery of a 60 year old woman in Cumnock on Saturday 27 February 2016.
Around 0615 hours the lady was walking along Townhead Street when a man approached her from behind and grabbed her bag. The man then ran off towards the Barshare area.
The suspect is described as white, around 5 ft. 6 inches in height, with a slim build, short dark hair and in his 20s. He was wearing a dark coloured zipped top and dark coloured jeans.
Officers having been conducting enquiries locally, including examining CCTV and speaking to members of the public, however the person responsible is yet to be traced.
Detective Constable Jamie Carruth said:
“Luckily the victim was not injured but it was nonetheless a terrifying ordeal for her and she has been left badly shaken.
“I believe the answers to this crime may lie within the local community and I would like to thank the members of the public who have assisted with our enquiries to date.
