The Airport said:
"Here at Glasgow Prestwick, we are proud to say that our location rarely experiences adverse weather conditions and when we do we are ready to quickly respond – giving us a reputation of being one of the most reliable airports in the UK."
"Once again we have remained open and operational during adverse weather conditions allowing us to manage our own scheduled flights as well as providing resilience capability for a significant number of diverted flights.
"It is thanks to our dedicated hard-working team being prepared for all eventualities and responding quickly to evolving situations that the airport remains open.
"With Met Office weather warnings in place across the UK for the rest of the week, further travel delays and cancellations on roads, rail and air are predicted, so before setting out on any journey you are advised to:
"Check the most up to date advice from television and radio reports as well as from Traffic Scotland and the Met Office @TrafficScotland @MetOfficeensure you have a fully charged phone with means of re-charging it, warm clothing, food, drink and that you leave extra time for your journey.
"We will continue to monitor and respond to weather conditions, making every effort to maintain our reputation for reliability by remaining open for business and if our operations are affected we will provide updates on our social media. Follow us at: Facebook, Twitter
