A 44-year-old man is being treated in hospital after being found injured in a street in North Ayrshire.
The man was discovered near the Saracen's Head Hotel, on Eglinton Street, Beith, in the early hours of Monday morning.
He was initially taken to Cross House Hospital in Kilmarnock before being transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
Police are attempting to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
