RE-APPEAL - MISSING MAN - TONY LOWEY - ARDROSSAN
Officers from Police Scotland continue their efforts to locate 51 year old-year old Tony Lowey, missing from Ardrossan, since Wednesday 27 December 2017. It is almost three weeks since Tony was last seen by his family and friends and they are understandably very upset.
Enquiries have revealed that when Tony left his parents’ house, before being dropped off in Hunter Avenue, Ardrossan, he was carrying one of Sainsbury’s Bags for Life and a black bin bag. We know the bags contained several personal items, including Christmas gifts, which included a wooden cat ornament.
Officers are re-appealing to members of the public, asking them to check their gardens, sheds, garages and outbuildings where Tony may have sought shelter or where he may have left the bags. Any information, no matter how small, could prove significant in our efforts to locate Tony.
Officers have conducted a number of enquiries and have utilised specialist Force resources, such as the helicopter, specialist search officers and police dogs.
Inspector Colin Convery said:
“This is a very traumatic time for Tony’s family and they are understandably upset, however, I know they have been encouraged by the assistance and support they have received from the people of The Three Towns, and indeed beyond.
Everyone just wants Tony home and to know he is safe and well. We continue to appeal to people to keep an eye out for Tony and to pass on any information they may have regarding him or his whereabouts.”
Anyone with information is asked to call officers at Irvine Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 0936 of 29 December 2017.
