If your travelling outside Ayrshire towards Glasgow you might want to plan ahead!
Drivers have been told to expect “significant delays” over the next few months as work begins on three central motorways.
If you're driving in and out of Glasgow over the next few months, you might want to plan your journey in advance.
Both carriageways of the M74 - from junction 2A Fullarton to J6 Hamilton - will be affected, with work beginning tomorrow and lasting for three months.

Work on the M8 - between J8 Baillieston and J10 Easterhouse - begins later in August and will take an estimated four months to complete.
The M73 will also be affected for six weeks starting mid September, between J1 Maryville and J2 Baillieston.

It’s all part of a £500million improvement programme to upgrade the motorways and reduce congestions - the latest project is to install new signage gantries.
Graeme Reid, project manager for the M8 M73 M74 Motorway Improvements Project, said: “Transport Scotland is working with the contractor to ensure these works are completed as quickly as possible.

"While we're doing everything we can to minimise the disruption, delays will be inevitable, so we're asking motorists to check the Transport Scotland and Traffic Scotland websites for updates on these key routes, to plan their journeys in advance and to look at taking an alternative route if possible.
