Roadworks planned for Glaisnock Street in Cumnock

The Ayrshire Roads Alliance, as part of its ongoing programme to improve the condition of the road network, will be carrying out major road resurfacing works on Glaisnock Street, Cumnock from the junction at Hall Terrace to the junction at Wylie Crescent.

The works, which are due to start on Monday 31 July and will continue for up to 10 working days, will involve removing sections of the existing road surface, laying a base course, resetting ironware, laying a new surface course and renewing the associated road markings. To carry out these works safely and efficiently and to protect the roads operatives and the travelling public, this section of Glaisnock Street will be closed Monday to Friday from 8am until 6pm. An alternative route will be signed via the B7083 to Skerrington roundabout onto the A76 Cumnock by-pass, A70 towards Cumnock onto Ayr Road, before re-joining Glaisnock Street and vice versa. Emergency access will be maintained at all times. The Ayrshire Roads Alliance on behalf of East Ayrshire Council apologises in advance for any inconvenience caused by the works.
