TWO people have been killed on the B743 Mauchline road in Mossblown heading towards Tarbolton, Police have confirmed.
The crash occurred around 14:30 hours and involved a lorry and car, emergency services and Police Scotland rushed to the scene of the incident.
An Air Ambulance unit and Police helicopter were also on scene.
Police Scotland revealed an 80 year old man and 78 year old woman was pronounced dead shortly after the collision and they were travelling within the car - They can be named as Henry McBeath and Jessie McBeath from Sorn in Ayrshire.
A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
The driver of the truck was uninjured but has been left badly shaken by the incident.
