Drugs with an estimated street value of £100,000 has been recovered by officers in South Ayrshire.
On Thursday 11 June 2020 officers discovered a cannabis cultivation within a commercial property on York Street, Ayr. A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the recovery. He is due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court today (Friday 12 June 2020). On the same date, officers attending at a domestic property on Lochlea Avenue, Troon and discovered Class B drugs. A 52-year-old man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal over the matter. Chief Inspector Brian Anderson, Local Area Commander for South Ayrshire said “We are committed to tackling drugs misuse in South Ayrshire”. “Our officers will continue to target those involved in the production, sale and use of controlled drugs and these seizures show that work is ongoing week after week to do so." “I would ask that our communities continue to work with us and provide information around drugs misuse in your locality”.
