Why not head over to the Harbour Arts Centre this Friday to experience the latest instalment of performances from Tidelines Book Festival?

Tidelines is a community-run charitable trust and organiser of world-class literary events in Ayrshire and the team are bringing back their annual Scrievin’ and Scran event this Friday from 7.30pm.
A spokesperson from Tidelines Book Festival shares: “We are delighted to be hosting an event once again at the Harbour Arts Centre, the flagship venue for arts, performance and culture here in North Ayrshire.
“We’ve been running for twelve years now, and the aim of Tidelines Book Festival events are all about spreading the love of reading and creative writing to all ages.
“This weekend, our Scrievin’ and Scran event returns to bring a bit of joy in January during the same month as Burns Night.
“We are excited to welcome a host of local poets and spoken word writers on stage as part of an open mic night, and the scran element consists of a delicious pie during the interval, so you’ll be entertained and tummies will be lined during half-time if you’re planning on coming along…”

Tickets are going fast for the event that will feature two Ayrshire-based writers, Gerry Cambridge and Tracy Harvey. Other performers will include around 11 other local writers and two school pupils from a local secondary school.
Councillor Alan Hill, Cabinet Member for Communities and Islands is urging people not to miss out on the event.
He shares:
“Tidelines events offer a brilliant opportunity for local residents and visitors to North Ayrshire to join in on a prominent local book festival.
“This Friday promises a warming evening of poetry and prose, with a half-time hot pie included in the ticket price, so what better way to brighten up the start of what is set to be another dreich weekend?"
The Scrievin’ and Scran event is recommended for ages 14 years and over for the performance on Friday 24 January at 7.30pm.
Tickets are priced £12.00 each plus standard booking fee and can be purchased online via the HAC website. The website also has a run-through of all other exciting events happening with fun for all the family.
Located at Irvine Harbourside, the Harbour Arts Centre has nearby parking and Duncan’s café and toilet facilities are on site. The venue is on the flat and fully-accessible.
