Two men treated for chemical burns after incident in Girvan

We contacted Police Scotland for comment in regards to an emergency situation in Girvan this afternoon.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland told Ayrshire Daily News:

"Two people had been taken to Girvan hospital after serious burns whilst coming into contact with some sort of chemical liquid at a local factory in Girvan.

"The men were taken to Girvan Community Hospital - and then transferred to Ayr Hospital. The condition of the men is not known."

Police also confirmed that a tape corden had been erected at the Girvan Community Hospital. The reason is not known.
