Voters Head to the Polls in Ayr North By-Election

A by-election is taking place today in Ward 3, Ayr North, where one councillor will be elected to serve the people and communities of South Ayrshire.

The ward, which has an electorate of 12,653 and around 2,500 postal voters, is currently represented by Councillors Laura Brennan-Whitefield, Ian Cavana, and Ian Davis.
Eight candidates are standing for election:
Orhan Bulikj (Independent)
Ian Douglas (Scottish National Party)
John Duncan (Scottish Labour Party)
Mason Graham (Scottish Liberal Democrats)
Wullie Hogg (Independent)
David Paterson (Scottish Conservative and Unionist)
David Petrie (Independent)
Andrew Russell (Reform UK)
Polling stations across Ayr North are open until 10pm for residents to cast their votes.
