2795 people have now died in Scotland due to the Coronavirus as the latest National Records of Scotland statistics is issued.

Of the total number of deaths registered in week 18 (27th April to 3rd May), there were 523 where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate, a decrease of 135 from the previous week (20th to 26th April).
This is the first weekly reduction since the first COVID-19 death was registered in the week beginning 16th March.
In the last week, 59% of deaths linked to Covid-19 occurred in care homes, 310 in total.
While 37% were in hospitals and 4% at home or a non-institutional setting.
