Event Organisers, The Ayrshire Hospice, issued the following:
"Due to the unseasonable rainfall in the last week and on the advice of East Ayrshire Council, we are very sorry to have to announce that our Ayrshire Ninja Challenge planned for this Saturday is going to have to be postponed and has be rescheduled to take place on Saturday 28th September 2019.
"Sadly, even our Elite Ninjas could not hold back the extreme weekend floodwaters at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena in Kilmarnock and after a very wet field inspection we have no option but to postpone."
"Our sincere apologies for any disappointment or inconvenience caused but our absolute priority must be ensuring a safe and fun event for everyone.
"We are sincerely hoping that this date will suit the majority of the hundreds of people who have already signed up and would like to thank you for your understanding and invaluable support of the hospice.
"Everyone already registered will be eligible to join us on the new date and registration for new entrants will now remain open until Friday 27th September for anyone else who wants to join in the Ninja fun!"
