Stagecoach announce changes to fares, tickets and travel zones across West Scotland

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Scottish Government guidance remains to only use public transport where it is absolutely essential to do so. From 7th March 2021, Stagecoach West Scotland will be introducing a simpler way to understand our range of tickets and fares. The new range will make it easier for you to be confident that you are always getting the best value travel for the journeys you make and acknowledges the increased flexibility many people are now looking for.

Throughout the pandemic, Stagecoach has provided public transport links to key workers, to those accessing healthcare and education and to those travelling for other essential reasons. Stagecoach has also been working hard so that when the country begins to move steadily out of lockdown and back to normal day to day life, we can welcome back customers who may not have travelled for a while, and also welcome new customers to our services.

The changes are also designed to help reduce cash handling, by reducing the need for change. We've created more tickets available on the Stagecoach bus app and kept prices within the contactless limit for onboard our services wherever possible.

Some of the changes include:

  • A new Flexi 5 ticket for the new flexible way to travel, offering five tickets for the price of four

  • We've expanded our range of tickets on offer for children aged 5 - 15 with more choice across our DayRider and MegaRider zones.

  • Greater choice of tickets and savings for students

  • A new employee travel benefits scheme

  • Changes to the Group DayRider ticket means up to five people of any age can travel together using this one ticket

We’ve made changes to our travel zones, this may mean that from 7th March the name of the ticket you buy may change, but don’t worry our drivers will help make sure you get the right ticket and the best value. To find out which ticket you’ll need to travel, download a copy of the new zone map and fare table or ask a member of our team.
