£434,000 Cannabis Farm Uncovered in Ayr Raid

Police have recovered drugs with an estimated street value of £434,000 following a raid on the former Mecca Bingo building in Ayr.

Around 10am on Thursday, 18 September 2025, officers acting on intelligence discovered a large-scale cannabis cultivation inside the vacant premises at Boswell Park.


Two men, aged 33 and 29, have been arrested and charged in connection with the recovery.


Detective Sergeant Allan Auld said: “This significant recovery highlights our commitment to disrupting drug-related crime in our communities.


“It also reinforces our ongoing commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy.


“Information from the public is vital to our efforts, and I would encourage anyone concerned about drugs-related activity to contact Police Scotland on 101. Alternatively, you can report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
