Appeal after two pedestrians struck by car in Ardrossan hit-and-run

Police are appealing for witnesses after two people were struck by a car that failed to stop in Ardrossan.

The incident happened around 6pm on Thursday 4 December on Sorbie Road, near Ardrossan Academy, when the pair were crossing at the pedestrian traffic lights. They were hit by a red car, which then drove off.


Officers are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward.


A Police Scotland spokesperson said:


“Police in North Ayrshire are appealing for witnesses after a road accident about 1800 hours on 4th December 2025 in Sorbie Road, Ardrossan, near to Ardrossan Academy. 2 persons were crossing the the road at the pedestrian traffic lights when they were struck by a red car which failed to stop. If you have any information or Dashcam footage which may assist with our enquiries, please contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference number PS-20251204-2563.”
