Ayr SNP MSP Siobhian Brown has praised the collaborative efforts of Whitletts Vics in the Community, Scottish Gas and the Scottish FA in providing Summer Holiday Football Camps.

These are available to all children free of charge at New Voluntary Park.
During her visit, Ms Brown met with Marna Ferguson from Whitletts Vics in the Community and Alex Anderson from Scottish Gas to discuss the positive impact this initiative has had on the community.
The SNP MSP also had the opportunity to talk to the children at the camp and about their love of football. The camp also provides children with a nutritional lunch.
Commenting Siobhian Brown SNP MSP said:
“At a time when many households continue to experience challenges because of cost-of-living pressures, these summer camps ensure families aresupported and children are entertained and fed during the school holidays.
“This initiative also allows parents to continue working over the summer holidays while their children have fun in a safe and friendly environment.

“It was fantastic to speak with many of the children and hear of their ambitions for the future. Engaging in sport is crucial for our young people as it allows them to develop key skills - including communication, teamwork and respect”.
James Corcoran, Head of Scottish Gas Sporting Partnerships, said:
“We’re proud to be working with the Scottish FA to bring free summer football camps to communities across Scotland including the brilliant community facility at Whitletts Victoria. At a time when many families are feeling the pressure of school holidays, these camps offer kids a chance to stay active, have fun, and enjoy a free lunch in a safe and supportive environment.
“We’re grateful to Siobhian Brown MSP for taking time to meet the kids and coaching team and for helping shine a light on the positive impact that football can have in our communities.”
