Ayr's oldest nightclub has officially been taken over.
Ayr's oldest night-spot Club De Mar has changed hands, as new experienced club operators have moved in, with a bid to revive it back to it's former glory.
The new owners who are from outside Ayr, who have experience of managing other nightclubs around the country are now in charge of running the club.
The club which has been run for the past 26 years under the ownership of Debbie Cairns, Jimmy and Justin Horne, and managed by Paul Spence has seen trade dramatically fall in the past year.
It's not that long ago the famous Club De Mar had huge queues of young clubbers waiting to party. The queue was seen go around Boswell's Bar & Restaurant.
Club De Mar was famous for bringing big names through it's doors back in the day such as, The Bay City Rollers, The Drifters, Ultrabeat DJ Ian Redman and Shorty Blitz.
It's been an amazing club with manager Paul Spence at the helm who did a fantastic job.
Club Boss Debbie Cairns said in September, she could remember when Ayr was bursting at the seams with clubbers, but admits those times are gone.
We wish the new club operators success!
