Around 100 female bikers wearing bright pink hi-viz vests and mohawks on their helmets were joined by a few good men wearing decorated bras as they set off today on a gruelling three-day, 600 mile ride around the West Coast of Scotland to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The riders taking part in the Breast Way Round challenge left from Rugby Park in Kilmarnock and will finish up at Loch Lomond on Sunday. The charity event has raised over £301,000 since it began in 2008.
Provost Jim Todd went along to Rugby Park to wave the riders off. He said: “Every year, many of the riders remember loved ones, family members or friends who have lost their lives to cancer. I think it’s wonderful that they join together to do something so positive to raise money for Macmillan as well as get the chance to create new friendships and enjoy some stunning Scottish scenery along the way.”
