East Ayrshire Council by-election result

Caroline Barton (Scottish National Party) has been elected to serve as Councillor for Ward 2 (Kilmarnock North) following the local government by-election on Thursday 20 February 2025.

The by-election was held following the death of Councillor Maureen McKay in November last year.

The results were as follows:

• Finlay Affleck, Scottish Greens: 75

• Caroline Barton, Scottish National Party (SNP): 748

• Ian Grant, Independent: 277

• Sandra Joanne Kirkwood, Reform UK: 212

• Allan MacDonald, Scottish Conservative and Unionist: 159

• Greg MacKenzie, Scottish Labour Party: 582

• Lee Manley, Scottish Liberal Democrats: 37

Number of ballot papers received: 2,110

The turnout figure for the Ward 2 by-election was 21.7%
