Kilmarnock Business Owner’s 24-Hour Fundraising Marathon for Breast Cancer Now

A young Kilmarnock entrepreneur and Miss Great Britain finalist is preparing to put her endurance to the test as she takes on a unique 24-hour fundraising challenge in support of Breast Cancer Now.

Dionne Hair, 21, owner of Sculpt Cosmetics and Indigo Aesthetics & Beauty in Kilmarnock, will undertake her “24 Hours of Strength” challenge from 10am on Saturday, June 20, until 10am on Sunday, June 21, working continuously from her salon for a full 24 hours.

The challenge comes just one week before Dionne represents Ayrshire at the Miss Great Britain 2026 Finals, adding an extra layer of determination and commitment to the event.

Dionne hopes to raise £1,000 for Breast Cancer Now, with £10 from every appointment booked during the challenge being donated directly to the charity. Additional funds will be raised through sponsorship, donations and support from local businesses and members of the community.

As a young business owner, Dionne says helping women build confidence has always been at the heart of what she does.

Through her businesses and her personal platform, “She Sculpted Herself,” she encourages women to challenge themselves, overcome obstacles and realise their potential.

Speaking about the challenge, Dionne said: “She Sculpted Herself was created from my belief that every woman has the ability to change her life if she’s willing to put in the work. It’s about taking ownership of your future, building confidence, overcoming challenges and becoming the person you want to be.

“Over the years, I’ve learned that growth doesn’t happen when everything feels comfortable – it happens when you challenge yourself.

“That’s one of the reasons why this challenge means so much to me. 24 Hours of Strength isn’t just about raising money for charity. It’s about showing what’s possible when you commit to something bigger than yourself, and hopefully inspiring other women to believe in their own strength too.”

Dionne is encouraging local residents, clients and businesses across Ayrshire to get behind the fundraising effort, whether through booking appointments, making donations or helping spread awareness of the campaign.

Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s leading breast cancer research and support charity, providing life-changing care and funding vital research into the disease.

With the challenge now fast approaching, Dionne hopes the local community will rally behind the cause and help her reach – and potentially exceed – her £1,000 fundraising target.

Anyone wishing to support Dionne’s “24 Hours of Strength” challenge can do so by booking appointments during the event or making a donation towards the fundraiser.
