Essential resurfacing on the A77 at Kilmarnock commences Monday, 30th March 2026

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the A77 at Bellfield Roundabout, including the slips, from Monday 30th March until Thursday 2nd April 2026 between the hours of 9pm and 6am each night. 



This work will require overnight closures of the roundabout and slips, and signed diversions will be in operation. 


  • Traffic wishing to use the southbound A77 off slip will be directed to follow the southbound A77 to Bogend, Tarbolton Road and the B730. 

  • Traffic wishing to use the northbound A77 off slip will be directed to continue on the northbound A77 to the Grassyards off slip and follow B7082 Grassyards Road, B7802 Strawberry Bank Road, A735 High Street, A735 Sturrock Street, A735 Old Mill Road and A735 Queen’s Drive. 

  • Traffic wishing to use the A77 southbound on slip will be directed to follow the A76, Crossroads Roundabout, the A719, Sandyford Toll Roundabout and follow permanent signage. 

  • Traffic wishing to use the northbound A77 on slip will be directed to follow the A735 Queen’s Drive to Tichfield Street, St Marnock Street, John Finnie Street, George Street, Wellington Street, Dean Lane, Strawberry Band Road and Grassyard’s Road to join the A77 northbound.  

  • Traffic wishing to travel on the A71 eastbound will be directed to follow the B7038 to Hurlford Roundabout, Hurlford Road and A735 Queen’s Drive. 


During this time, lane closures in the A77 southbound between Whatriggs and Bellfield will be in operation, as well as 3-way temporary traffic lights. 


Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works. 

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable. 


This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.
