Local man, Michael Kirkum, from Kilwinning has made another generous donation to

the children’s ward at University Hospital Crosshouse.

Michael approached local businesses asking them to make a contribution, and he

received a staggering response. Michael delivered the festive gifts, including toys

and over 1000 selection boxes, to delighted staff at the ward. The gifts will be

distributed to those children who unfortunately have to be in hospital over the festive

season.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran Hospital Play Specialist Michelle Dodds said:

“Having to stay in the hospital is never easy, but it can be especially hard for children at this time of year.

“Michael and the local businesses he approaches, are helping bring joy to patients

staying with us over the festive period. We can’t thank them enough for their

kindness and generosity, as the toy donation really cheers our young patients.

“These donations are so special as they help to create special memories for patients

and families who cannot celebrate Christmas at home.”
