As Bonfire Night approaches officers across Ayrshire will continue work with partners to promote safety and keep people safe.
Officers in East Ayrshire joined colleagues from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and East Ayrshire Council at Tesco, Kilmarnock yesterday (Friday 3rd November 2017) to promote firework safety. East Ayrshire Area Commander, Chief Inspector John Cairns, said: “The safest way to enjoy fireworks is to attend an organised display. “Each year in Scotland we hear reports of people being injured through the misuse of fireworks or illegal bonfires. “If you are hosting your own display please take extreme care and follow the fireworks code.” A number of local Fireworks Displays will be taking place including: Troon Round Table Fireworks Display, Saturday 4th November at North Shore Road, Troon with display at 7:30pm. Murray Park in Cumnock will see their annual display at 6:30pm on Sunday 5th November 2017. Kilwinning Community Fireworks Display, Sunday 5th November 2017 at McGavin Park, Dalry Road, Kilwinning.
