Heartbreak as Hayes Garden Centre in Symington is destroyed by fire

Hayes Garden Land garden centre in Symington has been destroyed by a fire in the early hours of Monday 15 December.
Several Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to the scene and remain in attendance as efforts continue.
The business confirmed the extent of the damage in a statement posted on social media, saying:
“We regret to inform you that we will be CLOSED for the foreseeable future - the Garden Centre & Cafe have burned down.”
Local MSP Elena Whitham, who represents Carrick, Cumnock and Doon Valley, also shared her reaction online. She said:
“Devasting news this morning regarding the much loved Hayes Garden Centre near Symington. A regular stop for my husband and I and so many others, my heart goes out to the owners are their amazing staff team. Hoping everyone is safe and sending much love for the coming days.”
The local garden centre first opened in 1988.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said:
"We were alerted at 2.16am on Monday, 15 December to reports of a fire within a garden centre building in Bogend, near Kilmarnock.
"Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the town's Tarbolton Road, where firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.
"One appliance remains on scene with crews working to extinguish remaining hotspots.
"There are no casualties."
