Hundreds of homes tonight have been left tonight Flooded and without power and cars destroyed after flash flooding hit some parts of Ayrshire earlier this evening.

Kilmarnock and Dundonald have been worst affected with homes in Hurlford and Shortless being left flooded and without power, Just outside Kilmarnock travellers on the A77 where left stranded in there cars and the road closed after heavy rain flooded the busy Ayrshire route. The A77 has however since reopened after the flooding subsided and the road was cleared.
Homes and Businesses in Dundonald Main Street have also been left flooded while the roads out of Dundonald where also flooded leaving residents trapped.
Further up East Ayrshire Bellsbank also suffred From flooding luckily this was less serious and hasn’t caused any damage to homes.

Bus services X77, 10 and 4 where also delayed due to lengthy diversions and Symington and Hansel villages where also cut off due to flooding in the A77.
Tonight rivers around Kilmarnock, Irvine and The river doon through Patna And Dalrymple are continuing to rise with fears of further flooding and emergency services remain on standby.
