Alexander Chalmers pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of the class in August last year
Police who raided a house in Irvine recovered cocaine with a street value of over £23,000. At Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday Alexander Chalmers 33 was told that he faced a jail sentence after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of the class A drug in August last year.
Police went to the house around 5.30pm. They found relatively small amounts of cocaine in the kitchen. In a cupboard however were two quarter-kilo batches of the drugs. On the illicit drugs market these can be obtained for around £6000. But broken down into one gramme deal they could yield almost £10,000.
Also recovered were cash and a number of tick lists. James Irvine defending said he would reserve his comments until Chalmers appeared for sentence.
Sheriff Alistair Watson said that he would allow bail to continue. But he told Chalmers Given the amount of drugs here you have to be realistic. This may be an opportunity for you to put your affairs in order.
Sentence was deferred until next month for a criminal justice social work report.
