Scotland’s biggest music festival wasn’t just about the performances on stage, as the team from Rainbow Room International once again played a key role behind the scenes at TRNSMT 2026.

The award-winning salon group returned to Glasgow Green for the ninth time, operating its exclusive backstage pop-up salon for artists, management teams and crew throughout the three-day festival.

Stylists and directors from Rainbow Room International salons across Scotland provided professional haircuts and styling services, helping performers prepare before stepping onto one of the country’s biggest festival stages.

Representing the Ayr salon on Friday was Director Riccardo Corvi, who worked alongside Heather Brad from the Clarkston salon and Miya Henderson from Howard Street.

The team styled artists including The K’s, Dylan John Thomas and Beluga Lagoon.
Saturday saw another Ayr representative take to the backstage salon, with Hannah Bettany from Rainbow Room International Ayr joining David Nicolson, Becca Jack and Fabrizio Delvecchio.

The team welcomed a host of well-known names, including members of English Teacher, The Fratellis and The Last Dinner Party, as well as singer-songwriter Poppy Baskcomb. They also worked with members of the crews supporting Amy Macdonald and Sonny Fodera.

The final day of the festival saw Julie-Anne and Andrew Donaldson lead the styling team, joined by Brody Gibson, Megan Fyfe and Lily Lamb. Artists visiting the salon included Kerr Mercer, Rubie Green and CMAT, while members of the touring teams for Lewis Capaldi and Skye Newman also made use of the backstage service.

Throughout the weekend, the stylists reported that textured mullets, longer men’s hairstyles, disconnected cuts and undercuts proved popular, while glossy waves, curls and voluminous updos were among the favourite looks requested by female artists.
With Friday bringing persistent rain before sunshine and humid conditions arrived over the weekend, the team relied on a range of Schwarzkopf Professional products to create styles designed to combat frizz, withstand the weather and stay looking fresh throughout the day.

Riccardo Corvi, Director of Rainbow Room International Ayr, said it was a privilege for the company to continue supporting the festival year after year.
He said the opportunity gives stylists valuable experience working in a fast-paced backstage environment while showcasing the skills and creativity of the Rainbow Room International team to artists and music industry professionals from across the UK.

He added that working at events such as TRNSMT highlights the wide range of opportunities available within the hairdressing industry beyond the salon and demonstrates the high standards of expertise across the Rainbow Room International group.
