Man Dies in Early Morning Motorcycle Crash in Auchinleck as Police Appeal for Witnesses

Police are appealing for information following a fatal motorcycle crash in the early hours of this morning (Saturday 24th May) on Main Street in Auchinleck.

The incident, which occurred around 12.25am, involved a blue and white Sherco 290 motorcycle. The 34-year-old male rider was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.


In response, Road Policing officers closed the road for around six hours to allow for a full investigation into the circumstances of the crash.


Enquiries remain ongoing, and officers are urging anyone with relevant information or who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.


Sergeant Brian Simpson, who is leading the investigation, said:

Our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the deceased at this time. We are asking anyone who saw the motorbike prior to the crash, or has any dashcam footage, to please contact police. We are also keen to speak with anyone who attended the scene to assist but did not remain to provide their details to officers. If you can assist our enquiries in any way, please call police on 101, quoting incident 0082 of 24 May, 2025.

Police are particularly keen to trace any drivers who may have been in the area at the time and may have captured footage on dashcams that could assist the investigation.
